DOPA is conceived as a set of distributed databases combined with open, interoperable web services. The Figure below depicts the planned web services: hexagons with dashed lines are pointing to web services in development, those with a green plain line are those for which at least parts are already made available. The flexibility of the architecture allows the development of different web clients for different end-users and still rely on core web services that can be used for very different purposes.
